You, probably

Your repertoire is small enough to know by heart and large enough to forget. You play a bit around the house, a bit around friends, maybe sing the chorus and let someone else worry about the harmony. You don't need a daily practice schedule — you just don't want to sit down with the guitar in your hand and draw a blank.

What's going to matter to you

Every song fits you, not the other way around

Song Hive remembers the font size and auto-scroll speed you set on each song. Wonderwall opens with chords on top, lyrics underneath, scrolling slow. Hallelujah opens with the capo already on 5 and the font cranked up because you're singing it at a party and you're not wearing your glasses. The app stops being a thing you configure and becomes a thing that just opens at the right size.

Turn off the bits you don't care about

Don't want a star rating on every song? Turn off familiarity tracking for a specific song or set a new-song default under Settings. No pressure to rate. No spaced-repetition schedule unless you want one. Practice is opt-in per song — you choose which songs feel like "ones to keep up" and which are just in the library because you play them when the mood strikes.

Tags that match how you actually think

Your tags don't have to be "rock / folk / indie". Tag songs "around the fire", "for my mum", "capo-2 easy", "goes-down-well". Tap any tag in the list and the library narrows to just those songs. The song list filter stacks tags with tuning, capo, and content — useful when you're flipping through the library trying to remember what you used to play.

Tuning and capo stored per song

You probably know one tuning. But every song has its own capo position, and Song Hive stores it alongside the chords. A small pill on the play page tells you "capo 5" before you start — no more strumming a song half a song in the wrong key before realising.

Split view for the songs where you sing

Show chords above, lyrics below. Drag the divider until you've got the ratio right. Next time you open the song, it's exactly the way you left it. This is how you play The Weight when it's 11pm and someone's making s'mores.

Nothing to lose if you stop playing for a month

Your library is stored in your own iCloud. Pick the guitar up in December, open Song Hive, and the songs are still there at the right font size with the right capo and the tags you added in July.
